All is fine... except...
My Guild Wars has been running normal since up to 2 weeks ago. I've had the game for 14 months now. Well, it still runs fine except for one minor error... it does not show the effects of my character being drunk (As in a blurry screen). I know for sure that I'm actaully using the Ales because it shows on my drunk title progress. So, if you guys know what's up and what I can do to fix this, please, let me know. THANKS!

*I have not adjusted any video settings since I've installed GW

for me, when i have graphics at their lowest setting selected from the ingame options menu, drunken effects do not show. When a higher setting is chosen, the drunken effects kick in after the next minute of drunkeness. This might well be what it is for you, at least test it out by setting graphics at full before you drink next time

Does anyone know what they use for the drunken effects? They could be using something the Geforce4 card doesn't support (Certain DirectX level, Pixel Shader?) since I didnt have the effects show on my Radeon 9250 128 MB at any level but I have them on my Dual XFX Geforce 7950...so yeah. Probably has something to do with the hardware.

As I've said though, the drunkeness effects used to work fine prior to these past 2 weeks.
And, Peachie, I'm pretty sure my graphics were at maximum, but I'm gonna double check. Thanks for the feedback guys.

Nah, it's a bug in the game mostly. They've *fixed* it numerous times including the update about a week ago. It used to not work on my system and it did work on my g/f's now it's the other way around...
Update - Thursday August 17
* Added a Kurzick Recruiter and a Luxon Diplomat to the Great Temple of Balthazar. These NPCs are able to transport PvP characters to the Fort Aspenwood and Jade Quarry outposts. They also are able to transport roleplaying characters who have previously visited these outposts.
* Added Zaishen Representatives to the Fort Aspenwood and Jade Quarry outposts. These NPCs are able to transport players to the Great Temple of Balthazar.
* Made preparations for this weekend's double faction event in Jade Quarry and Fort Aspenwood.
* Fixed a bug that prevented party size indicators from appearing over players' heads in outposts.
* Fixed a bug in the Kaanai Canyon Alliance Battle map that allowed Kurzick team members to leave their base before the game had started.Fixed bugs and made improvements to the Raisu Palace explorable area.
* Fixed a bug in the appearance of the intoxication effect.

Well, that blows massive chunks because I'm trying to get my drunk title, and it will be really hard to know when to use another ale. Thanks for the info though. Now I know.

yeah it really does blow for the drunk title. It's so intermitent now on my machine that it's beyond annoying. I can drink 5 ales and it'll show, then drink one more as it wears off and it will completely stop, drink 5 more and nothing. It still counts, it still does the little phrases and sits randomly, but still...
